The Department of Surgical Disciplines is organizing the “Sixth AIIMS Surgical Week”, International Conference, CME cum Live Workshop (ENDOSURG 2012) from 16th March 2012 to 18th March 2012 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

AIIMS Surgical Week is an annual event and many postgraduate students and practicing surgeons look towards the AIIMS Surgical week as an important event in their quest for excellence in surgery. The main objective of AIIMS Surgical week is bringing the expertise of the experts-national and international for the practicing surgeons as well as postgraduate students.

The focus this year is on Laparoscopic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery and breast & endocrine diseases. Common surgical procedures and interesting cases will be demonstrated.

International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons is being set up under the aegis of SELSI and IHS to bring about uniformity and accreditation of training in laparoscopic surgery. Senior surgeons will be awarded FICLS (Fellowship of International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons) after a rigorous scrutiny. Younger surgeons will be awarded MICLS (Membership of International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons) after basic examination. First Convocation of International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons will be conducted during the AIIMS Surgical Week 2012. Eminent laparoscopic surgeons will be conferred honorary degree of FICLS during this convocation.

Live tele-video conferencing from ‘Centres of Excellence’ across the globe is another unique feature of AIIMS Surgical Week. Internationally renowned faculties from Germany, France, UAE, United Kingdom and United States of America have been invited to participate during the conference and workshop.
